Thought they weren't allowed to hide speed cameras?
Or am I wrong? Brand new Gatso's gone up on the M4 between J17 & J18. The one eastbound is right by the junction by the first bridge you come to & is directly behind a massive sign. Thought they had to make these visible.
It's not active yet btw, still got it's hood on lol. |

It's not a law, it's a guideline. In fact IIRC authorities only had to make them visible if they wanted to keep any of the revenue - if they didn't then they were free to hide them. I seem to remember that the government announced late last year that authorities would no longer keep any of the money, so there's no longer any incentive to mark them clearly.

I seen the two cameras last sunday. Isnt one under the bridge of jun 18. Im sure you cant see it till your on top of it. :wonder:

I'm sure a few old tyres hooked round it and set alight would make it comply with their guideline of making it a "visible deterrent" ;):D
