Ok. Time for a propper introduction I guess.

Im Paul from Mac's Power Motorsport in Co.Kildare where we specialise in Subaru Impreza's.
My last car was quite famous featuring in many mags and even on TV.
It was famous for the Irish 4x4 0-60 record of 3.98 secs. It probably became a little too famous as it was one of the most highly modified Impreza's in the country. That was until I was woken up one night by scumbags with a shotgun asking me for the keys. Well thats another story.
My current car a MY00 Wagon is undergoing the Mac's Power treatment and is available for test drive by other turbo owners.

I'm also involved in the Irish Subaru Driver's Club and we are looking for new members and hope to be over the 50 mark for January. Contact me on 086 8797512 if your interested. We already had 4 meets in various locations. and are running a treasure hunt before christmas, just as a fun day out for all the family.
Upcoming events include a Rolling Road Shootout, Track day at Mondello Park, and a Rally day in Monaghan driving 2 Impreza Group N cars. The rally day is courtesy of Subaru Ireland.

We have negotiated discounts on servicing, parts and tyres for members.

The membership fee is £25 per year to go towards administration and the publication of our own club Newsletter every quarter. the Club is non-profit making and any excess at the end of the year will either go back into a club day or go to charity. So if you get tour car serviced twice a year with one of the dealers doing our discount then you'll have your membership fee back.

The more members we have the more we can do and the more power it gives us with regards to insurance companies etc... so join up now!

I'll try to get more involved in Scoobynet but I spend a lot of time on IWOC dealing with technical questions. I don't claim to know it all but I know a thing or two about Impreza's and can help out as much as I can.

Many thanks,

Paul.

Hi Colin,

Feel free to e-mail me. We mainly do Turbos but can get anything you want a lot cheaper than you can from the UK or your dealer. I had a sport in last week for a back box. Actually we supply a lot of the main dealers with aftermarket parts.Join the club and get 10% off parts.

Paul.

Hi Paul,
I am sure like me most of the irish users of scoobynet would love to know the spec of the car that holds the Irish 4*4 record (i.e. engine block and head used, type of turbo, engine management, exhaust
etc.)I know you no longer have the car (scumbags) but it would be interesting to see the spec..
Also does the club have any discount with a Toyo tyre dealer??

The spec for my last car was as follows.

It makes me nearly cry when I think about it!
I had virtually everything we supply on it.

MY99 DBM, Mac's Power Backbox,Mac's Power Midsection, Mac's Power downpipe, K&N Induction Kit,Lightened Flywheel, 92.5 mm Piston Kit, Duel entry intercooler, IHI VF23 Turbo, AP racing Clutch, 17" Gunmetal Grey Alloys, Full Brembo Brake conversion, Pagid Pads, Centre console replaced with gauge setup, Intercooler Guard, Macs Power Intercooler Piping, Large Air intake pipe, QuadHeadlights, Leather Interior, Aircon, Carbon Dash, Side Skirts, Colour Coded Mirrors, Link ECU, Running 1.5 bar of boost on the day with 100 RON fuel.
£5000 major ICE system.

Car only held the record for about 4 weeks until the dreaded EVO did a 3.90.
I reckon we could have topped that again but my clutch gave in and then the Scumbags took my beloved :-(

My new car is undergoing the Mac's Power treatment but I don't think I'll ever go this far again!

Paul,
Thanks for posting the spec. It sounds the business!!! I take it you used octane booster to get 100 Ron. You any idea what kind of power it was putting out??

David L

Mac's Power 17 November 2000 06:38 PM

I had it dynoed in the UK at power engineering before the engine internals were fitted and it was putting out 292 bhp at this stage. SO I presume that it was a bit over the 300 :-)
Remeber that the rally car only puts out 300 bhp but it's Torque that counts.

My car had loads of it :-)

100 RON was got using touline which if any of you are science minded is not very good for you !!

Anyone else got any mods done.

Paul.
