I have just recently installed an induction kit on a MY98 Turbo and also I have removed the vent covers from under the bonnet to aid cold air induction. This has resulted in a glorious sound from the blow off valve when changing gear and at least an extra 20mpg from a full tank of petrol. So after that you would think I was happy, not so. During the pi**ing rain yesterday from about 4000rpm the car felt as if it wanted to go backwards. This happened in all gears but it has disappeared when it stopped raining. Can anyone help, is this doing any harm or are the electrics the problem as I have taken the vent covers off?

Help!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

I would not be an expert in this field, but someone told me before if any bit of water gets into these filters the car will will start stalling, as I say it could be something else as well.

On the fuel, are they that bad, I was very interested in buying one of these, but I might have to think twice now. How much did you pay for this and where did you get it....

rgds,
Colin

Put the covers back on so.Just because prodrive get away with it on the P2000 doesnt mean it will work for you.I would think that just as much water gets in with the covers on though.

Hey Team Subaru
You were spotted in Waterford on Saturday.

Scruff 06 November 2000 09:53 AM

Colin,

I think you may have mis-read my text. The result of fitting the induction kit was better mph than before fitting. I would highly recommend fitting one as I get the same results from my Civic SiR except the civic sounds like a full blown rally car with one fitted. I bought mine from Pro Racing, Newlands Cross, Clondalkin and as far as I can remember it cost £120.

Kevin I think you are right I will put the covers back and see how things turn out. Coincedently a friend of mine has a Volvo 850T-5 with one fitted and he has had the same problem last week also.

Cheers

Scruff,

As usual I read things to fast, Did you fit the filter yourself or did the place you bought it from fit it for you ? , does this void your warrenty, or would I get away with it..

Kev,

I confess, I was in Waterford, herself is from there. I was looking at the Subaru Dealer there, he had the New WRX Model and the New Old Model. He done up the Old model with 17'' alloys and exhaust and sprayed the skirts, looked nice. He said it was going for £32,000..Pricey for a car with 5000 miles already on it.Did you see it there ?

Where did you see me

Kevin2000 06 November 2000 08:55 PM

Well the car in Waterford had 17 inch prodrive wheels running on the legandary bridgestone S02s,it also had painted side skirts as u said and aero flaps which your car does not have.It has a full magnex exhaust system too.Go to

£32000!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
You're right Colin...
That is a lot for a car with 5000 miles on it!
Btw....Check your mail.....I want to have a word with you about something http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Kev,

Don't get me wrong, Lovely car, the alloys really make it. The Aero Mud flaps are cool but what are they something like £200 unpainted for the set, I may be wrong. But too far out of my price range for flaps. You say it has a full Magnex system, I thought it only had a Back box, when I asked the Dealer he was saying it costed £400.00 for the exhaust.

Nice pictures on the web..

Team Subaru,

Yes I did fit it myself as it only takes about 15 minutes. Don't know about the warranty , but if anything goes wrong the filter is coming off straight away before it goes back to the dealer.

Even my car has areo flaps colin and yes they are 200 notes. They are suitable for speeds in excess of 140 mph and do absolutely nothing for keeping dirt of the car.Speaking of dirt, I hope you washed your car from when I saw it last.

Kevin2000 13 November 2000 07:31 PM

Your car still chugging along scruff?
