Spaghetti questions.
1.Why use a coolander, why not just drain in with a seive?
2.Okay,you use a coolander, leave it a few minutes and its all stuck together. 3.You cook the spaghetti now but want it for work later.Later on its all stuck together, secondly whats the best way to reheat it at work. The above applies to both fresh and dried spaghetti. cheers Paul. |
An old Italian mate gave me this tip:
To stop pasta 'gluing' together add a teaspoon or so of olive oil (any kind of cooking oil really) to the water when you boil it. Instant cure. Sue. :) |
when you've cooked the spaghetti, drain in the colander and then pour a good load of the best virgin olive oil you have through it. then mix round a bit. it won't drain as quickly with a colander as with a seive.

try putting it in a flask no need to reheat then
you can get wide topped flasks for food |
As soon as it's drained, get some home made pesto fired in :notworthy
|
1) Pour the spag into the colander to drain
2) Pour boiling water (from kettle ;) )over the spag in the colander 3) Drizzle a bit olive oil Eh voila ! (or whatever the Italians say) D |
In a flask it continues to cook and goes soggy like it is in minestrone soup!
