RA box in to my96 wrx

Hi folks. Been talking to kev at clinic about an exchange on my wrx running 343 bhp to a ra box with a uk 5th gear. Is it straight forward and will i be proper impressed with it. quoting me around £650.

£650 for the box, or 650 fitted?

Earlier RAs had stupendously short ratios, especially if you're still using a standard wrx rev limit.

All in fitted. That is off one that he is breaking.

if your running that sort of power i would suggest the RA ratio's will be far too short..................if its an early box max speed is around 120 dependant on diff ratio!!

Had an RA trans from a 94 RA in my 314 bhp Sti V3, and it was terrible, all gear changes and fuss..and that's on the road. On the track is was slower than my stock Sti trans.

The early RA's run with 3.9 rear diffs, I think the WRX's have 4.1. So if they are swapping over the front diff from your WRX box then it will be manic!
