WTF is a select monitor anyway??

Diagnostic computer softwear, as used by Subaru dealers to read the cars ECU - usually done via the OBDII connector underneath the steering console on new age cars.

There are various PC softwear packages which will scan the ECU in the same way through the same port, and can be used for checking fault codes, resetting the ECU etc.

I think the OBDII is only on new age, not classics.

Bearing in mind the original post is from 2001, I'd be surprised if they had computers then !!!! :D
