classic disk and pads

hi

i need to get some new disks and pads for the front of my97 uk turbo ppp, can anyone tell me what are a good set and make value for money, durability/life of the pad etc.

i have no idea how much it will cost so dont know how much to budget, i think there are already uprated ones on it but not too sure what ones they are, and i cant say how good they are as the diska are warped and pads are low so any advice would be great

thanks

steve

What sort of driving do you do? Any track days? For normal road use, I got these from GG Racing.

Think your car will have 2 pot callipers, so you'll need 277mm discs. With pads I think they are around £80. I have done nearly 1000miles since I fitted them.
I had EBC uprated discs and red stuff pads on before. They cost me £400 fitted. After 7000 miles, the discs were warped and the pads were very low. They were also very noisey, and cr%p from cold.
What's more, when I replaced them with the GGR Gear (Lucas copies I believe), my brakes felt 10 times better. Initial bite was fantastic and they have yet to fade on me.
I'm not usually an advocate for scrimping on brakes, tyres etc, I just bought these to get me back on the road, and to be honest, I didn't expect them to be any good.
Just shows, not everything that perfroms well, has to cost the earth!

The above should suit you down the ground m8. Would you fit them yourself, as they are a doddle to fit?
