hi all,
i want to ask some questions about wrsport car and my99 uk.these are the questions;
1)which is better on wet(on track or on road)
2)which is better on dry tarmac(road,track)
3)which is faster on a track?
4)what are the differents on suspension(hard,soft,etc....)
5)which is more comfortable?
i have an impreza my99 so i want to learn which is much better.
thanks for all replies (if you can reply i will be very happy because i want to turn my car to prodrive car so i need your advices,thanks again).

my car is my99 and prodrive kit of my car must be difference.
it is gripping awesome on road(dry or wet,standard suspension)but out on a track it needs dampers so i want to fit them.

Don't know about the P1, but ProDrive put a kit on my brother’s impreza. At first he thought it had made a difference, and that it was only his driving style. In the end he realised the kit just wasn't working.

In the end he threatened pro drive that he would advertise it's results in the same magazine they advertise in. Facing this they gave him is money back!

To be honest the Prodrive kit was developed for a previous model Impreza, and his 97 Impreza required a different kit (that prodrive had not produced).

If the kit had gone on a pre 97 car it probably would have been right.

Your questions all have pretty obvious answers, but grip is down to the tyres more than anything else, the Prodrive car should be quicker because it's more powerful, and comfort is a matter of opinion.

This guy is asking about the Prodrive SUSPENSION and not just the PPP.

Why should the more powerful car be the quicker round the track?...as you know, so many factors influence the equation dont they?, have we not seen many slower cars on paper kick ass on track against faster cars?

You may like to consider the Leda suspension kit from Scoobysport. This is often considered a good setup. Maybe you should phone Scoobysport & talk to them about it?

For brake upgrades you could look at the Prodrive Alcon upgrade from your Subaru dealer. They shoudl be able to demo a car for you with them fitted.

Bear in mind that a full Prodrive WR car is only available from brand new. Otherwise you just add-on Prodrive packs.

Brakes first, then suspension would be a good option to get your car competitive on the track. More important than all these is to get yourself on a driving course. A good driver in a 99my is going to be faster (& safer) than a not so good driver in a WR.

I have the Prodrive kit complemented by Anti-Lift Kit and adjustable roll bars front and rear.
The Prodrive setup is geared towards British roads and [I guess] the occasional track day.
I find [and still do find] the ride very comfortable. If you wish to attend numerous track days, throwing your car around with wild abandon another kit may be the better way to go. There are several to choose from.
Decide what you want and act accordingly.

Erm, the Prodrive WR cannot just available from NEW. If you add all the gubbins you still get the same deal surely, i.e. that exclusive badging?...perhaps prodrive, who have been noticeably absent can comment?

P1WR, i dont have the Prodrive suspension so i cannot comment. It really does depend on how much track etc you will do as to what you should opt for in the end.

The Prodrive WR is a car in it's own right with it's own insurance grouping. It seems to be much the same idea as the BMW Alpina's used to be.

I agree that you can spec to the equivalent with add-on packs, but it won't be a WR. Also you won't get the badges. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

All our parts can be fitted to new or older cars, the spec and pricing are the same.

We now have 2 different specs of Bilstein/ Eibach suspension. The original kit gives improved handling etc but does not reduce ride comfort, whereas the new kit gives much sharper response and reduced bodyroll. The only trade off is a firmer ride which some drivers may actually prefer.

Well my 1998 Terzo had all Prodrive options with the exception of the WR stickers.
It does have a "Prodrive" badge on the back.
Then again it has a "Terzo" plate inside.
And its Terzo Blue. So thats another colour!

The price is identical.

The later kit is much firmer and gives better response and steering feel with reduced bodyroll but there is a slight trade off with ride comfort.

A question for Mike...

You say there are 2 Prodrive kits available. I have been ringing round dealers with a view to adding the kit to my MY99 and no one has mentioned that there is more than one set up available. What is the difference in terms of spec and price ?

Its not really possible to directly answer your question 'will it beat a #### round corners' other than to say it is better than a RB5 with std suspension.

Further details will be with your Subaru dealer in a few days.
