Which Exhaust ?

A mate of mine has just been and brought a WR1 and is looking to put a full decat exhaust system on it including headers what would you people recomend ?

what sort of system is on them as standard i know they have the prodrive exhaust but what does this include would there be sections of exhaust he wouldnt have to buy ?

what are the magnex exhaust systems like sound and quailty wise ?
i have a classic scooby myself but have a full afterburner system but my mate says it to loud for him and doesnt want one thats as loud

I'm not sure, but I believe the WR1 has a hi flow down pipe all ready and a non-catt'd centre section. Your mate would be well advised to keep the high flow DP, it's only a couple of bhp down on a std cat'd downpipe and will save grief at MOT time and possibly with the insurers. Also, sports cat pipes are VERY expensive. Std centre section probably isn't worth replacing either- the back box is where most of the noise comes from.

An original scooby design backbox will put a smile on his face without annoying the neighbours......too much ;-)

NS04

I'm off down to powerstation tomorrow, and will be looking long and hard at the 3" milltek system. Still undecided to go cat/de-cat downpipe, obviously there is a big cost in the cat dp. I've got the prodrive on at the mo', so looking for more power, and better sound too. I'll have some sound files and video up by the weekend if I do go ahead with the fitting.
Chris.

i ve got a magnex full system on and its not too loud at all.nice burble on tick over and doesnt deffen you when the engine goes over 3000rpm

I've got the Magnex decat centre pipe and Magnex 6x4 oval backbox. It give a nice low burble on tickover but is not loud on the motorway. TBH I'm going to try and get something a bit louder, like a Ti-phoon or Ninja. You can't fault the quality of the Magnex stuff though :thumb: .

Other than that, you've got the H&S systems, TSL, Milltek.

I have got a firestorm and de-resonator centre section on my MY05 STi ppp, left the prodrive cat in place. Sounds terrific, even if the people next door think it sounds like a tank!
