What is a 3 port boost solenoid ???

Search not working for me!

What is a 3 port boost solinoid. I know that standard Scoobys have the 2 port, but what is the difference?:wonder:

Thanks.

the early wrx's had a 3 port think they changed it on the my97 but may be wrong on that. Dont know exactly what the difference is (apart from the obvious extra port) but I think that a 3 port allows for better boost control. I could be wrong and if I am then someone will probably be along soon to say so.

Anyone else?

I've also heard that they control the boost better. Is it true that the earlier cars had the 3 port?

Cheers!:)
