Lost the Burble?

Driving into work tonight my car seems like it has lost some of it's burble.

Is this possible?

I have a my01 WRX with a Sti rear box and even though it's not the loudest it seems to be quieter than normal? Am I being :cuckoo: or is this possible?

I know I have more road noise since having new boots (P-Zero's) and I haven't used the car from Friday day time.

The engine was slightly louder on start up but I put this down to being left for a couple of days and being cold.

Any suggestions?

Steve

Steve,

How long was your journey to work?

The scooby burble doesn't *really* start to make itself known until the car -and presumably the exhaust- is warmed up nicely. If you've left the car for a couple of days it might take longer than a journey to work to get everthing nice and toasty again.

clean your lug holes, if that dont work get a proper zorst. sorted. never noticed any noise difference on start up to warmed up, always sounds a beast.:)

Thanks New_scooby_04 for the reply.

My journey is aprox 7 miles. It seems to be slightly louder at present so maybe you was right and it needed a bit of a drive to clear some cobwebs.

I'm having a WR Sport box put on soon and will be getting a Sti panel filter too. Will these improve a slightly more "burble" sound? :freak3:

Help much appreciated.

Steve

Yes, the backbox will- panel filter won't, but the WR sport box is relatively "tame" If you really want to hear the burble, but not go too loud you could get something like the original design backbox from H&S (group buy on at present) or the Ninja from Scoobyworld. If you "like it when they make a bit of noise, sir" Try the Afterburner Vortex from Scoobyworld (loud but nice) or the Blitz Nurspec (really loud) or the Firestorm (Sheet, I'm deaf) If you go for one of the latter two be prepared to apologise to your neighbours!!! :D
