Carbon canister.....

Right, i need to remove the carbon canister from my my00 in order to fit an effective heat sheild.....
Mine is the one with three pipes on top, and a vent pipe underneath.
I was thinking of just connecting the three pipes on top, and therefore having it connected to the inlet, but i'm not sure what all the little valve things do......
Does anyone know for sure what is the best thing to do, i've done a search and read the replies, but what i'd really like is for someone thats done it to tell me exactly what they've done and wether it seemed to run ok afterwards......

Cheers..

Ron.

I "T"d all the pipes together, blocked the inlet pipe hole off and vented them into the inner wing, where the original breather from the bottom of the cannister goes.

I retained the larger of the 2 grey valves (purge valve IIRC), but put it further back up the line , by the idle control solenoid on the passenger side rear of the inlet manifold.

HTH :)

Thanks FB......

What is the carbon canister?

IIRC, i completely did away with the line that connects the CC to the inlet pipe - I also binned the valve on that line, and just traced the vacuum line (from the valve) back to a small T piece, which i removed and replaced with a straight join.

It's the black plastic "bottle shaped" unit next to the radiator.

It's used to filter and recirculate vapours from the fuel tank IIRC :)
