fightnight-classic V bugeye

first of all happy new year:luxhello: .
right got th formalitys overwith.
the more threads and topics i read the more apparent it seems that thier is a big divide between classics and newage ?

i have owned 4 scoobys ;
1 legacy GTB,
1 uk turbo ,
1 wrx,
and now ...01 bugeye.
i loved them all and have the scooby bug 100%,
in my eyes especially inshow me your secton were people post pics of there pride and joy the classic owners allways slag off the newage.
well all i can say is iv had both and if you had the newer model you wouldnt go back mate.
i still love the classics but you dot find newage owners slaging off the classics ??
we must be more mature !:hjtwofing

...I take it you are bored:lol: ...

Raartoot 01 January 2006 06:08 PM

...also I must admit the bug eye has grown on me a tad but still believe it is an ugly car, corrolla crossed with scooby, but thats just my opinion tho, dont want you to think im imature.
Prefere the Blob eye anyday.

mickywrx 01 January 2006 06:09 PM

Classic scooby every time ;)

Trap2Terrorist 01 January 2006 06:11 PM

I like both equally, I think the classic's have a more natural, sleeker look to them but the newage cars look more aggressive.

The best looking scoob of all has to be a WR Blue Type R with gold alloys, roof and bonnet vents, etc. But for those of us that need the practicality of 4 doors, a Type R or P1 is a no-goer.

IMHO the bugeye has a better front end than some of the later newage cars, (excluding the headlights) and I like the look of the raised front wings on the bugeye too.

p.s. I'm a bugeye owner.

Oh god yeah, the bug is an ugly MoFo,i have one myself, but i think they are just more imposing when youre just about to go for the overtake

The infamous bug-eye... incase anybody was wondering...

Do not really like the bug eye but the S202 is a cracker of a car, give me one anyday over a classic. For the record i own an STI v3.

just what i was thinking, nice arse shame about the face:lol1: i am a bug eye owner and to be honest its face is quite cute:luvlove: its grown on me recently, probably due to a major head on smash:nono: no just kiddin shouldnt say that, but it does look better when detangoed. bugs cant be that bad cos minis and some mercs have very similar headlights;)

Nice looking motor above :).

The new-age cars remained great base cars for modification as proved above. Each to their own I say. Classic is the daddy yes, but the bug-eye onwards are better cars in many ways. Variety is the spice of life after all. ;)

I do agree though - I have a preference for arse shots. :D

I have had a 02 plate bugeye Sti, which was sold 3 months ago, I now have a V reg classic. Have to say that the Prodrive Style that I had in Black blue was such a mean lookin car, people used to stop and look at it all the time. It does not happen in the classic though as they are so common now due to cheap prices. I rarley ever saw one like mine on the road and really miss it - however the classic is more fun, not as nice inside though. The new shape cars are much easier to drive i feel, you just point them and theu go. The classics are a bit more twitchy at the rear and have to be driven to get the best out of them. To be honest they are all Scoobys so must be good! My classic has PPP decats and full HKS system, and i swear it is quicker than the Sti

It's strange how some that have subtle exterior mods do look way better than std...

UK300's for instance look much better...

I've only driven one classic and it did feel quicker than my bugeye (similar power output) but he had the T25 suspension kit fitted and the ride was very hard. This suspension setup was superb to drive, much more responsive and you could feel every inch of the road. This made the car feel like it was going MUCH faster, however when I drove my bugeye over the same stretch of road later that evening, I was doing the same speeds at each reference point.

My conclusion was the because the classic's are a harder and and more raw driving experience, with a more violent power delivery, they feel quicker but actually aren't much quicker (if at all).

I also concluded that even though his classic was great to drive, I couldn't live with it every day. I guess that's one of the reasons Subaru softened up the WRX Impreza slightly, to give it a wider appeal to the every-day driver.

Still both great cars though

Day to day, my Sti 5 is fine over the bumps etc etc - I think with a performance car you will put up with a little firmness...

I take your point tho...

If they came with these lights as standard then they wouldn't be too bad...
