Get her down to a dealer, she sounds like she needs to go on the diagnostic equipment, which will tell you precisely whats up with her :)

Tony:)

cheers anything i can check myself as dealers are closed

dj219957 27 December 2005 12:33 PM

praps checks the plugs and coil packs while you wait to get it to the dealer?

jaytc2003 27 December 2005 06:40 PM

sounds like it could be the coilpacks, mine has just done the same thing, totaly split one.

Ninnybobs 27 December 2005 09:26 PM

I would check for an earthing fault

jonny gav 27 December 2005 09:34 PM

as it is a my99 it doesn't have the 4 coil pack set up, that sounds like classic MAF failure.

its very common on the my99 cars, costs around £70 for a new one from the dealer.

hope this helps :)

so do i jonny checked for eror codes and it shows a 32 which is the lamba so hopefully something simple going to do a compresion test (advice from a good source) just to make sure it hasnt done anything seriousas it was badly missfireing

jonny gav 27 December 2005 10:46 PM

sometimes the MAF fault code doesn't show up even though the MAF has failed.

stevey 27 December 2005 11:25 PM

how can i check the maff to be certain then
cheers steve
