Bugeye Fog Lamp Covers!!

Hi everyone!!

Just purchased some fog lamp covers off ebay and hope i've gone for the smart looking ones. Anyone got any pics of their bugeye with some on. Wouldn't mind a few ideas for decals too bearing in mind its only a WRX so I don't want STi decals to make it look like an STi when it clearly isn't. Thanks.

I have just bought these ones.

They look really nice. I've got a silver one too. Where did you get that grille extension piece around the grille?

I think with those being flat they could probably do with a sticker of some sort, how about just WRX?

The grill is a JDM STi one, direct replacement for the centre & side pieces on the standard bug..

Yes! I had one of these fitted with scoobysport hella 1000FFF HID spots (sadly no longer available).

You need to buy some fog light covers with holes in. They were a subaru official spare for something like £300 a pair! As I took my spotlights off before I sold it there's a set in blue in my loft gathering dust. Make me an offer.

To fit lights you need the mounting ring, a metal backing ring with three captive nuts attached, this slots into the plastic under your current covers, think I've got a pair of them (and a switch) too. If you're interested I'll go and check what's there. Then you need some lights to fit, either oem foglights if you're a closet bmw / saxo driver or if you're a proper subaru driver some aftermarket spot / driving lights.

The wiring is there but it's foglight wiring so to fit fogs it's easy, fit a switch, fit the lights. To fit spots / driving lights it's harder you need to change the wiring a bit at the dash end but I've got a prodrive instruction sheet that tells you what to do.

That Grille really works well. Makes the car more modern. I'm going to have to be brave and try and de tango my headlamps. It just seems like its going to be a nightmare!! I wouldn't know where to start

There the ones i've just bought. Look pretty good. I was thinking of having Subaru decals on them in black as I have a silver one.

Yeh, the grill is a good improvement, does make it a bit less flat fronted!

Do a search on de-tango, it's not hard to do, you just need to be brave to stick the lights in the oven :)

Yes thats the bit i'm worried about. I'll do a search and give it a go. Where did you purchase the grille from as I can't find them anywhere? Does it come with black mesh too.

I got mine from a breakers, I was planning on buying one from Japan via www.japanparts.com, IIRC they are supplied bodycoloured so you don't need to paint and come with the mesh and an STI badge..
There is a close replica available which has vent 'holes' cut into the flat pieces either side of the grill, mate of mine got one of these, filled the holes, sprayed it up and it looks great, take a look on Ebay thats where he found it...
