Is my towbar removable?

I have a 2004 WRX wagon and it has a towbar assembly bracket thingy that looks like its only bolted on. (The towbar isnt attached its just the bracket).

Question is ... Is this assembly very heavy and if so can it be easily removed as I dont want to carry un-necessary weight around.?

if its anythinglike previous towbars i have had on cars, it is probably mounted under th boot floor, so theer should be a number of nuts you can undo.
when i last did it, it was on a 10 year old car so mr angle grinder came out!
you should be alright on yours.

and yeah, they are fairly heavy so i'd remove it!

:)
