gear ratio info please!!!

I am replacing the gearbox on my97 uk and have a wrx 95 box and diff can anyone help with info on the ratio differences and how it will affect the drive of the car. Am i right the top speed is lower? have read this swap can be affective for driving round town? all is well as long as diff matches box on this swap?
any info apreciated!!
