Richard Pryor dead....
Just breaking now.....Comedian Richard Pryor has died. He was 65.
Was only watching one of his DVDs yesterday-had me in stitches. One of the best comedians ever. Multiple sclerosis :( |

He was a very funny man. With Gene Wilder he was brilliant

Sad news.
Never saw his stand up, but loved his films. :( |
I found him very funny and loved his performance in the film Moving :lol1: Brewsters millions is a classic too :D
|
Blue Collar was a fairly sensible role i thought, had a strange role in Lost Highway too.
|
My wife slags me off for buying 20+ year old movies, but Brewsters Millions, See no Evil and Moving were amongst my first choice purchases. Really funny guy.
|
Stir Crazy is one of my fave fims.
|
Silver Streak was another classic Wilder / Pryor film that was on recently.
Another comedy great gone. |
WTF no way :(
What is it with 2005 and class famous people passing away (other than that **** Best *flame suit zipped up*) :( :( |
Jawa, I don't wish to offend but your comments and the words "ignorant" and "uneducated" spring to mind.
Keeping this thread on track, Richard Pryor gave me many, many laughs and his stand-up videos totally outshone his film roles. The man was a forerunner of people like Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence...he really broke the mould and had black americans laughing at black americans and made it sound for whites to laugh at black culture as well. It was sad to watch his decline with MS over the last few years and I hope he died happy in the knowledge that through his work he provided much happiness to millions of people. Rest in Peace Richard Pryor, one of the great funny men. |
I'n not offended at all, as it happens I'm very educated thanks and am entitled to my opinion.
|
totally gutted, one of the funnyest guys on the planet, see no evil hear no evil etc let alone his stand up stuff.
he'll be missed:(

His stand up stuff was way better than his movies, and got you a bit closer to Pryor the man IMO. He did have a lot to answer for though, if it wasn't for him there'd be no Eddie Murphy, and therefore no 'Nutty Professor';) |
See no evil hear no evil on ITV3 now :D
|

I never warmed to Eddie Murphy at all! His "how not to get your ass kicked by the police sketch was a good example" and if you don't laugh at the don't ban guns, ban bullets sketch, there is something wrong with you! :D His films are a bit poo though! Ns04 |
