MY01 WRX Boost spikes to 1.7 Bar !
 

Car is fully decatted and Tek3'd and has been runing fine for over 1 yr like this. It's sudenly started peaking to 1.7 bar. (normally should be 1.3)

I've cleaned the pipes and the solenoid, though they weren't dirty/blocked.

The solenoid didn't click when the two green plugs were connected, though the fans switched on and off.

could the solenoid be faulty? Anything else to check?

I've now checked the pipe from to side exit of the solenoid all the back to the air inlet (after the MAF) and also the pipe from the bottom of the solednoid to the tee between the compressor cover and the actuator.

The pipe from the actuator to the tee is also fine!

I'm pretty sure it's the solenoid as it's not clicking!

what can I do to confirm this?

I'm guessing it broken in the open position which is preventing the actuator opening the waste gate to control the level of boost?

Could I drive it with the pipe to the bottom of the solenoid removed? This would prove my theory above!

I've measured 12 volts on the cable to the solenoid when the ignition is on with the green conectors together. The solenoid isn't reading open circuit either!

What would happen if I closed this pipe with a bolt and drove the car? Little boost I guess?
