CRANK SHAFT REBUILD

TAKEN THE CAR TO THE GARAGE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS EITHER THE SMALL END BEARINGS OR ONE OF THE PISTONS MAKING THE KNOCKING NOISE. THE GARAGE TOLD ME THE ONLY PLACE THAT HE IS AWARE OF TO HAVE A CRANK REBUILD ON MY 99 IMPREZA TURBO IS BELGIUM!!!!!

THE GARAGE I HAVE TAKEN IT TO IS A TVR SPECIALIST.

ANYBODY KNOW WHERE THIS CAN BE DONE IN UK (I'M IN THE SOUTH WALES)?

Speak to David at API, he is one of the advertisers on here, and will tell all, dont let the garage where the car is rip you off.

Hi, Sorry to hear about your problems. APi can certainly help you. Go on the South Wales scoobies area and see what is said about APi by the guys most of whom are having or have had work done here. Their recommendation will do more than l can possibly say. Or search on here for simb2 he will also help you in a decision.

Otherwise call me on Monday and l'll talk you through the options.

Kind regards David APi Engines / APi Impreza

It could be a wide range of problems on your engine, and none of them requires a trip to belgium to be fixed! If it's a case of piston slap then that's a relatively cheap fix, right up to a bottom end rebuild with new crank if it's a big end bearing.

Speak to either of the two above and they will be able to sort you out.
