Removing the rear seats / Changing Speakers

Hi there,

I would like to change the speakers on the rear shelf and wondered if anyone could tell me whats the process to remove the original ones?

Do i need to remove the rear seats to get access to the shelf?

Its on a 95 4-door WRX

Any links / info appreciated.

Hi m8, take your back seats out with a 12mm socket, remove the window wiper cover (in car)....it can be a bit of a pain but the shelf will come off...theres clips holding it in place, gently...put your hands under the shelf and feel for clips and force them out, once you have it all unclipped slide it out. the screws will be there to release the ****ty old speakers.

As said 2x 12mm bolts on bum bit. Then 3x 12mm bolts bottom of back piece. Then push back piece upwards then do shelf piece.

I thought you had to remove some of the side trim on the C pillar first?

I thought the C pillar trim came out to get the shelf out Floyd?

I had to remove my C pillar trim to get my shelf out. The clips broke in doing so :(
