Xbox 360: Region locked?

Hello

I'm in America at the moment, and I was going to buy an Xbox 360. Does anyone know if they are region locked?

Thanks,

Steve

I'm sure I read yesterday that the games are NOT region locked... Maybe someone can confirm this.

I'll try and dig out the article/web page I read it on....

Found the article... Probably not worth the hassle after reading this..

No I dont think they are, BUT remember if you intend on bringing it back to the UK, the original unit ran off 240volts so a US versions would need a transformer to use it Unless its got a switch mode PSU which I very much doubt, only other way you'll get round it is if it runs off says 12volts DC etc.... ?!?!?!

Hello

I have several US devices so I have a step-down transformer. I've had Japanese consoles for years and it frustrates me that I can't buy games in the UK, so wanted to make sure before I buy an Xbox 360.

My current xbox is modded so it's not a problem.

Thanks

Steve

I believe they left it down to the publisher as to whether their games are region locked or not.

Yes. I read somewhere the other day (I think it was on computerandvideogames.com) that some games are region locked and some aren't.
