suspension adjustment

I've just bought a 1997 wrx and the suspension is unbelievably stiff, the ride is almost unbearable!
Does anyone know how to adjust the suspension damper to make the ride smoother?

I would appreciate any help..!!

I think you need to understand what units you have on the car.
Some Jap parts are stupidly hard/over sprung and hence over damped.
Sometimes this can only be resolved by removimg them and fitting a good Subaru set-up.
If you need/want a nice firm drivable road car them fit STi parts, V3 or later. for this use the factory knew best, although there are some cheap tweeks you can do to enhance the car without any loss of ride quality.

Forgive me, but if you are not a 'hands-on' spanner type, then find a good independant specialist to advise you, depends on where you are located.
Take the car to them and see what they say.

Personally I would drive it to Powerstation from personal experience.

Thanks for the advice Graham, I am a mechanic by trade but dont have any experiance with this type of set up.

I've heard all you need to do is adjust a screw which should have 5 positions?

Would rather do it myself as it isn't that big a job, hopefully!

Does anyone have cusco comp zero 2 suspension fitted or have experience of adjusting it? Just need to know where the adjustment is made.

BTW, where is powerstation located?

Cheers

If its unbelievably stiff and youve only got 5 positions of adjustment, then it aint gonna get much softer!
Wasted time trying to adjust Jic coilovers recently with 15 settings, hardly a difference between 1-15....came to my senses and took a trip to Powerstation. :thumb:

The Ast setup Powerstation fitted on my classic sti ra car is amazing. :)

AST's are just great, very tuneable and can meet all needs, what could be better?
