KimA 29 September 2001 10:24 AM

We’ve been invited to hold a Scoobysnacks Xmas dinner at the usual venue (I’ve provisionally booked 30 places on Saturday 1 December). We will have our own area sectioned off, and have full use of the bar http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/guin.gif before, during and after dinner. The local cricket club, and members of the Austin Healey club are also having their Xmas bashes there that night (we will have our own parking area – as usual http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ).

Dinner will be @1830, and is £19.95 per head (£9.95 for children 12 and under). A deposit of £10 per person is required.

The menu choices are as follows:

STARTERS
- Wild Mushroom & Tarragon Soup (v)
- Smoked Salmon & Fresh Asparagus Spears
- Sherried Chicken Livers

MAIN COURSES
{All served with a selection of fresh winter vegetables}
- Traditional Bronzed Turkey & Honeyed Ham (with all the festive trimmings) *
- Prime Sirloin Steak (cooked to your liking and complemented by a creamy Peppercorn & Brandy Sauce)
- Paupiettes of Fish Bon Noël (stuffed with a Scallop & Prawn mousseline)
- Oven Roasted Mushroom Risotto (v) *
- Breast of Duck with Port & Plum Sauce

DESSERTS
- Christmas Pudding (served with rich Brandy Sauce)
- Chef’s Festive Dessert

TO FINISH
Coffee, Mince Pies & Mints

*Main course options available for children : Roast Turkey, Mushroom Risotto (v) or normal children’s menu (Sausages, Scampi or Chicken)

********

All deposits (by cheque) AND menu choices need to be with me by no later than Friday 26 October (as the landlord has asked me to pay the deposit/confirm menu choices in one lump sum – he will not take individual bookings over the phone). The balance will be due on the night.

If you would like to join us then please post your interest here, and e-mail me with your menu choices (kim_rb5@hotmail.com). I’ll then let you have my address to send the deposit payments to (I promise I won’t run off with the money – wouldn’t get that far anyway http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ).

Cheers
Kim
