After I sell the scoob I am going to need a replacement.

My requirements will be, low power, 1.4 ish so its cheap to tax and insure, something that will be cheap to fix, new enough so its not going to fall apart or rust on me, has to have some toys like heated screens, climate control or at worst air con.

Budget of about 4k, less if possible.

I have started looking at fiesta ghias, around the 51 plate mark, and 206's, are there any other cars out there I should include?

Civic 1.4 SE... EK (96-00)... They are frugal, cheap to run and insure with great reliability and still look good too.

Would get a late '00 one for less than 4k I would have thought.

Agreed! My 97 EJ 1.4 has been ace, never let me down. Paid £4700 for it three years ago, now on 56k miles, worth about £2k now maybe. No need to spend the £4k if u ask me!
