Toyo's i've found well good!

I'll second that. Good grip, turn in and value.Daz

Have not tried them on the Scoobie yet, but the Eagle F1's were absolutely fantastic on my Type R!!

They allowed me easily 10-15 mph faster cornering in the wet. Simply the best wet tyres arround, and not too shabby in the dry neither.

Only thing I found was I got only 9,000 miles before they needed replaced. Bear in mind that was on a hard driven front wheel drive car!!

d16ger,
The only thing putting me of the f1,s Is.... I heard that the side walls have a tendancy split, what were yours like when you removed them?

Daz, Legacy, T1r or T1s?

The F1's I had did not have a single mark on the sidewalls. Nothing on the outside, or the inside of the tyres.

AFAIK they were the XL type that I had, but I am not sure.

Toyo gets my vote, lots of feedback, tons of grip but they are fairly soft so you won't get massive mileage out of them.

Daz1121 24 November 2005 02:37 PM

I've recently had a set of Toyo T1R's fitted and by far they are the best tyre I've used yet. The steering feedback and wet weather grip is amazing, just make sure you keep an eye on the pressures as find the car is very sensitive to low tyre pressures.

I've gone for F1s mate. Very impressed so far and they've not had a chance to completely bed in yet. The sidewall issue has been dealt with in another thread. Bascially there is a popular size of 17" tyre that isn't available in the F1 series with a sufficient load rating for scoobies. They need 87 IIRC and this particular size is only available in 83.

If you can get one with a 87 load rating you'll be fine.

Do a search for the tyre size affected.

I dont think its load-related nor do Goodyear.

I'd keep a very close eye on the inside sidewalls - if already fitted.

Ta Bob, I'll keep my eye on them. I'm on 205/50/16 which I've not heard any reports of splitting with yet though. Very impressed so far.
