LDV pilot valuation help?
One of the works vans (thankfully, the worst one) had a prang the other night when a Taxi rammed into the front of it. Taxi driver admits full liability, but as they often do round here. They want to pay cash and don't want to go via insurance (typical - possible concern of the vehicle not being insured or incorrectly insured, which would affect our claim ). Either way it is quoted at £2500 to repair it. I cannot see him paying this in cash (although I could be suprised).
Just need to know what the van is worth.... LDV pilot 1.9 diesel (non turbo), standard roof/SWB, metallic paint, ply-lined, 69,000miles, T-reg (1999). FSH, Average condition (for a LDV sh1tbox ;) ). I think it's only worth about £2000, so I'm guessing if it would be written off if it did go via insurance. Just need to confirm the value. |

Well, taxi driver was insured, and once seeing teh repair quote he didn't want to pay that much. So it went though the usual insurance channels (good - less fuss and bother for me :) )
Insurance assessor inspected it on Friday...and passed it off for repair :eek2: I'll tell the Driver on Monday...he'll be livid :lol1: (I last told him it would be written off and he was joyfully expecting a half decent van instead of that complete s**theap LDV. ) I've since found out they are excellent at making milkshakes....just get a bottle of milk, add flavouring, place in van, start engine and leave to idle for a minute, and presto...you have a nice frothy milkshake :thumb: |
