Shocking....

My thoughts are with the families and friends of the Officers.

Lets hope these evil B****ds are given up by the "Old School Villains" as soon as possible.

Stringpants.

GC8 18 November 2005 07:07 PM

It is shocking isnt it?

scoobydooooo 18 November 2005 07:10 PM

fu**ing waste of life , these *******s should be hung !!

eldudereno 18 November 2005 07:12 PM

It's crazy how our police officers have to attend incidents with only a battern and cs spray when they can and are often confronted by criminals with knives, guns and the like!!!

Stringpants 18 November 2005 07:17 PM

The way we want it....

I believe you will find that the majority of Police Officers STILL do not want to be armed as a matter of course.

There are alot of armed Officers around but you hardly see them, thats the way I think most Officers want it.

I will be happy to finish my 30 years soon without having to carry firearms in my everyday duties.

Stringpants.

AndyLyman 18 November 2005 07:28 PM

terrible news......

It's on Sky news now - uninterupted coverage...

feel sorry for all of her family and friends...

1 shot dead and 1 seriously injured in hospital...

Andy

eldudereno 18 November 2005 07:32 PM

Surely though, the chances of encountering firearms at a robbery are quite high, so why send 2 unarmed officers?

Thank you for turning a tragic death into yet another anti-labour rant.

I dont belive the myth of 'old school villainns' being an honourable bunch.....villains are and always were villains, and there never has been any honour amongst thieves....

It'll be DNA and CCTV that catch em...

mart360 18 November 2005 07:48 PM

I agreed its tragic,

why cant we express what we feel about what we see and hear, i wont be the only one asking the question.

Mart

Scoob99 18 November 2005 07:52 PM

Scum, should be hunted down and shot:mad:

Chris5-0 18 November 2005 08:11 PM

Only just heard this news myself, absolutely gutted. I can only imagine there was no mention of firearms in the initial report and that is why unarmed officers were sent to deal.

I do feel we need to wake up and smell the coffee in this country, our police are getting younger, (18 years acceptable now) and their fitness and defence levels are nearly non existant when they are thrown out on the streets to deal with these animals. It's all very well to go on about keeping the force unarmed to keep the community happy but for gods sake get more armed officers out and about on the streets and maybe this scum will think twce about their actions. Just hope they flee west and end up in my neck of the woods, we'll see then.

My sympathy goes to the family of the fallen officer and best wishes to the injured bobby.

Chris.

BuRR 18 November 2005 08:13 PM

My force (again :()

She was apparently a 5 month-in-service probationer.

My sympathy.

Christ.

Unreal.

I was in a lovely canteen today having a cp of coffee wondering how much it had cost my force, now i wish it had all gone on self defence and extra armed response vehicles for us to use! Kinda puts any troubles i have firmly in the shade.

alcazar 18 November 2005 08:40 PM

I've had a few goes at coppers, and the police in general on here, but NO-ONE deserves this:mad:

Mart

I would fully agree with you Mart.

This is very, very tragic, and the families of the Police women involved will probably never get over it.

Unfortunately, it`s also true to say that the scum no longer fear shooting/killing even the Police, and that`s because there is no longer any deterrent.

Just another horrendous case of people doing what they want, just because they can. It`s an absolute bloody disgrace !

Clarebabes 18 November 2005 08:56 PM

I've just realised that I used to live just off Morley Street when I was at Uni! Very studenty area.

Not a nice reason to take a trip down memory lane :(

Shocking :(

:(

talizman 19 November 2005 01:11 AM

Absoloutely tragic :(

Made me realise how blasé I have become to this very sort of incident. I work in a city centre where we have accidental activations of raid/panic alarm buttons literally every day of the week. Even today we raced to an Opticians where the raid alarm had been hit, jumping in head first without assessing the situation fully/properly. Luckily it was an accidental activation, as expected.... What about next time? :(

Poor buggers obviously never knew the extent of the situation (I assume) and my heart goes out to their close ones :(
