Wow... what a great day out. Got back about 30 mins ago and am completely shattered... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Had a great time - set the fastest lap of our team, and we came about 8th or something about that over all.

Thought I'd post some preliminary piccies up:

Dave T-S turned up in his nice MY01... Perhaps they are ok after all? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...0004_small.jpg

There was quite a lot of action on the track (most of which was too quick for my camera http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif)...

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...0006_small.jpg

Some nice people won, who probably took it all far too seriously http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...0022_small.jpg

After which it was time for some fun - Scoobies on track!! These boyz were having a laugh... at the start:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...0025_Small.jpg

and while slinging it around the track!
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...0028_small.jpg
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Can't be bothered to do more than that now, will post more tomorrow.

BIG thanks to James for organising it, and to everyone else for making it such a good day!

All excellent fun, and a good blast there and back with PTMW! and Dave and Carolyn T-S. Thanks guys! Nice to note that mine was slightly faster than both of your cars too http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Cheers
Richard

Dave T-S 14 July 2001 11:51 PM

Richard - I was just slowing down for the speed limits M8 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Note the Red Baron got into the karting piccy too...hehehe

RB5SCOTT 14 July 2001 11:53 PM

That was quick http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Not sure about that podium photo though

Richard Gledhill 14 July 2001 11:56 PM

Indeed... here's a piccy of Dave in his full splendour as the Red Baron http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Neil's quote.."One of the highlights was seeing the scoobs go round the Kart track. When they all lined up 2 abreast, us who were more sensible and watched thought 'this is going to get interesting'. Think of the first corner at Monaco and you get the idea".

Why do you think I wanted to be first on track at the head of the queue LOL http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I had a discussion on the grid with Scott and agreed as his UK300 was restricted to 4500rpm I would go first - ta mate hehe http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Top nigth out http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

One of the highlights was seeing the scoobs go round the Kart track. When they all lined up 2 abreast, us who were more sensible and watched thought 'this is going to get interesting'. Think of the first corner at Monaco and you get the idea.

Luckily everyone got through the first bend ok and it was a laugh after seeing this ickle karts buzz round all night and to see them replaced with hulking great scoobs.

Even though they were'nt pushing the scoobs still lapped at in the same times as the fastest Kart lap of the day http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif On such a little, twisty track that was quite impressive.

Actually I found out that Dave TS has been fibbing to us for all this time. His Real car is the green one behind him in the photo http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Anyway, Cheers guys and thanks

Richard,

Got any more pics of me 'slinging' my Scoob round the track ??

Great night , great track , very knackered at the end of it all ............ When's the next one James ??

Nate.

Richard Gledhill 15 July 2001 10:49 PM

Sorry, no, just lot of blurs. Guess it was a bit much to hope for - taking a picture of fast moving vehicles from a fast moving vehicle, quite late at night!! Where's Josh when you need him? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Ian took quite a lot of digital video footage (I think)... or someone did... any chance of converting some of the 'Scoobs on track' action and posting it somewhere?

Cheers
Richard

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...015_Small2.JPG

Team number 1 - ought to put something up with them in really...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.gledhill/Team1.JPG

... and Team 15...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...ill/Team15.JPG

... and proof that Wibble and Wobble were doing rather well...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...Scoreboard.JPG

Having fun on the track...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...Wide_Small.JPG

And someone getting a little over-excited - and they were the only ones on track at the time! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...l/ScoobOff.JPG

All this tired us out rather...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard...ill/DaveTS.JPG

Nice 'STi' pink t-shirt Dave http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Looking forward to the next one already... Great day out. Thanks to Mark (Khan) and Ian (Yexley) for being great team mates!

See you all at the next one... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Yex 16 July 2001 09:19 AM

Hows the body today http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Yex

Dave T-S 16 July 2001 09:56 AM

Considering it had 35 minutes on the spin cycle - not too bad mate! - howabout you?

I do seem to have more creaks and groans than before I started though..... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Top evening though - can't wait for the next one http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

James_Harvey 16 July 2001 10:31 AM

Morning all, Great piccies... any more?

Glad everyone had a good time. Thanks for all the great feedback!

I am sooo happy that the Weather held out, My team didnt quite come last... 14/15 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif and I dont ache to badly, unlike Linda....

I certainly shall be looking to organise another event, probably towards the end of the summer (what summer I hear you cry)! Might even see if we can get those loopy Rotax Max Karts (90mph 0-60 in 4.5 secs) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Also, as the nights close in, I will be looking at arranging a real pain session... Paintballing... who's gonna be up for some real bruising then http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Thank-you all for supporting this event and making it the success it was. Seeing Scoobies on the Kart track at the end of the night was a stroke of madness that made me chuckle http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif

James.

PS. Anyone know what happened to the Scoobysport team http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif?

Yex 16 July 2001 03:53 PM

Dave,

The body's mostly fine but my wrists and forearms ached quite a bit yesterday, those karts aren't as good at turning in as the one's I usually play around with - but the event was well worth the small amount of discomfort http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

James,

If you want the direct 100cc drive loony karts I race with they can be hired at a track of our choice with enough notice - a couple of tracks even have flood lights if you want a night race http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Yex - now going on a diet !!!!

RB5SCOTT 16 July 2001 07:12 PM
