This is a difficult task to limit it to just 20 albums. Anyway here goes:
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts' Club Band Beach Boys - Pet Sounds Love - Forever Changes Van Morrison - Moondance Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland Rolling Stones - Exile on Mainstreet The Who - Who's Next Cat Stevens - Tea For The Tillerman Bob Marley - Legend Neil Young - After The Goldrush Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon Eagles - Hotel California Dire Straits - Dire Straits Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks Nirvana - Nevermind REM - Automatic For The People Massive Attack - Blue Lines Brian Wilson - Smile Eels - Blinking Lights And Other Revelations There are many more albums from this period that to my mind are essential. Just about any Bob Dylan album upto Blood on the Tracks; most of the Beatles output; a few more of the Rolling Stones to name a few. |
