Anyone have a spare adsl router they can lend me temporarily?

Following my other post about my adsl line dropping the only other test I want to run is to try a different router to make sure its not my router thats poor quality and causing a bad connection.

Does anyone have a spare adsl router that for example they may have laying around after they went to a wireless router?

I will pay for postage and send it back recoreded delivery. I just don't want to pay for a new router if there is nothing wrong with my existing router.

Also are there any software tests you get for routers?

No, but why not buy one off ebay and sell it again. You'll probably break even after postage

Hello mate,

I have a Netgear DG824M wireless ADSL router, that I've just switched for a faster one to use at home. I'm going to be fitting it for a friends parents soon, but if you want to give it a quick try, feel free to pop over and get it.

All the best,
Dunk

Edit to add . . . its been used with a 10m telephone extension lead in my house for about 2 years (3 ISP's) with no problems.

Thanks guys. Dunk that would be ideal mate as saves messing about with postage and worrying about it getting lost/damaged in the post.

When is a suitable time to pick it up and drop it back although I am working late shift this week so picking up it up before 8pm isn't possible?

DJ Dunk 14 November 2005 04:44 PM

Tues after 8pm this week is good to pick up. Will have to play by ear for dropping back as I can't be certain when I'm about, but we can sort that out later. Just off now, but give me a call/txt/email if you need to, otherwise see you Tues after 8 :)
