The Cambridge boys are planning a run into the wilds of Cambridgeshire on 22nd April. Starting at The Royal Oak in Barrington (just off the A10) and finishing at Grafham Water near the A1, the route takes in some rather tasty roads (for Cambridgeshire!) and will include a stop for lunch at a pub. Sounds good to me!

Scoob99
I was going to go to cambridge and then drive back with them, perhaps we could meet and you could follow me there as I have been to a meet at the pub in Barrington? |
Just awaiting the time to meet on 22nd!!
Have you decided on a route yet? Hugh |
Yeah thats great Pbone where shall we meet???......how about under the A1 where we parted on Saturday???? Cheers Colin |
Huge Hugh
Yes, we have decided on a route. Details will be given out at Barrington. See you there, Grahame |
And a time's been agreed - meeting from 11:30am in The Royal Oak (Barrington) car park for the ritual car inspection http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif followed by coffee in the pub at 12 noon. The maps and pace notes will be given out at this time, and we'll then head off for the drive at about 12:30pm. We reckon we'll get to the food pub at 1pm-ish or a little before.
Good to see quite a few people coming along! Richard |
Colin
Where we parted is a bit out of my way My probable route is to use the A428 to cambridge then going to Bassingbourne and picking the A10 up at Royston, although I may change my mind and could meet you in the Texaco garage where we dearly departed company. P.S Does the name Lee Harvey ring a bell. [This message has been edited by Pbone (edited 26 March 2001).] |
I'd like to attend! Is there anyone else from norfolk likely to enjoy a leisurely drive?
Matthew Ps. need good directions! |
I'm interested, let me know more details when available.....
|
Wacko, mat-e-boy and everyone else!
See Richard Gledhill's post for a map of where the starting point is (The Royal Oak in Barrington). It's just off the A10, about 4-5 miles south west of Cambridge. We intend to meet from 11.30am onwards (the pub will serve coffee from midday) and we shall start leaving around 12.30. We will stop for lunch at a pub around 13.00, with the main part of the run continuing after lunch. Grahame |
Top. Perhaps if i opened my eyes more often my driving would improve also.....
|
Pbone.....Yeah that sounds ok...Yeah the name Lee harvey does ring a bell.......use to work at my office a long time ago......How do you know him???
Colin |
The weather is at last getting better (have I spoken too soon?), so the 22nd should be blisteringly hot!! The route will take us through 50 miles of Cambridgeshire countryside and will include a stop at a small country pub for lunch (seating for about 20 people in separate room). The car park isn't huge, but there should be just about enough spaces. See you all at Barrington... Grahame |
Are we allowed to race like crazed lunatics around the surrounding country roads?! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Sorry... very very bad *joke* |
No probs Lou_C - we'll let you take the lead so can warn us of the Gatsos...
|
You dont Lou to warn you of Gatsos... just look for the *HUGE* black lines of rubber on the road as Lou slows from mucho over the Gatso limit to mucho under th Gatso limit. ;-)
Bri |
That was of course in jest.
Cars that have ABS wouldnt leave any marks... Bri |
Erm... thanks Lou! Now just waiting for Dave T-S to take the bait (which I doubt somehow!).
Does this mean you're joining us? bdrought? Richard |
Hi Richard,
Yeah, that would be great, I'll try and get Brian out (bdrought) To be honest tho I don't think he'll take much convincing! See you there! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif |
Yup... will be joining you. :-)
