Sony K700i

Hi Everybody

I thought I would get help much quicker here than if i try to get help from Orange again.

I have a Sony Ericsson K700i.
The problem is that i cant get rid of the answer phone message icon from the top of the screen. I have listened and then deleted all of the messages new and old yet the icon wont go away. Have switched on and off phone, removed sim and put back in etc yet the little ******* is still there!

Any one else had this problem? If so how did you fix it?

Cheers all

Brett

Also use to have a K700i, worst phone i've ever had. Upgrade to a W800 or K750i instead.

Nothing wrong with the K700i and the icon you see is just the phone's way of letting you know you either have/had a message or missed a call. Simply go to the calls list (top left button with phone unlocked), have a look at your missed calls and delete lists if you like and the icon will go.

I've had the K700i for a year and haven't had a single issue with it.

I must just have a bad one then, I'm glad I got insurance with my phone cause its been back twice and I've not even had it a year yet!..:)

Ive got one aswell. The only issue I have had was the joystick thingy not scrolling down, it would only go up, so a bit of a nitemare if your trying to search through your lists etc.

However it did mysteriously sort itself after I called Orange to see when my next free upgrade is due.

Other than that its been a good fone.

Gladly drop kicked mine across the garden last week.

Used to accept test messages on a "when it could be arsed" basis

Wow, didnt realise these phones were potentially so problematic.

To be fair to it, i havent had a single problem with mine until the answer phone message icon.

All voice mail answer phone messages have been deleted as have all call lists.
It just wont go away. Is it a ploy from orange to leave it there so i keep phoning it incase i have a new voice mail???? Do they not realise that this is my 666th post?! :D

Thanks guys.

That's odd.. Are you sure it's not some other icon?

Yes, I have this phone on orange and had the problem you discussed. Phoned orange who said it was a problem on the network and sent out an update over the air which sorted it out.

Notice how it doesn't come on for a few seconds after you turn it on. Phone your telco.

Simon.

I had this problem, took it to bits, cleaned some of the dust away and blew it and it works fine now.

Thanks simon. Glad to know it may not be the actual phone at fault. Will give them a call if i can ever get through.
