brake lights working without key in ignition
sounds like a n00b question :p
i can honestly not remember this ever being the case but if i sit in my car now and press the pedal the brake lights are lighting up my brothers car  with the ignition off do they always do this? i have a slight random judder/splutter/jerk thing which i had put down to a failing sensor, which i would like to sumhow tie in with this fault (eg a specific earth point or sumthing?) but i do relise they could not be related edit to add: a few weeks back it gave me a check engine light while driving through town, this went off after about 10 secs but i forgot about it and reset the ecu before getting the code no check engine light scince :s |
I think all scoobs do this Micky, well old did and so does my newage anyway.
Handy way to test the brake lights. |
never noticed this before
arse, that means i have to go and try to trace which sensor is making the engine splutter :( |
well checked the codes in the ecu and it gave me 23
maf sensor sooooo i checked the wireing etc etc and found that the clamps holding the sensor in the intake pipe were not even remotley tight  it was free to rotate and there was about 5mm play on the clip arse, my model maf is the expensive £300 jobbie as well  cant just change the actual maf in mine (orange sticker 90mm jobbie) |
I think you can get them for about £170 (still not cheap though). Try Tunnelmeister as I think he did some digging for the best price.

£170 is better the GGR`s £430 LOL

my brake lights also do this, MY00 classic

I think its common on Jap motors micky. Mine does, MY94, My mates 200sx and another mates MKIV Supra both do the same. :thumb:
|
Its not a problem with your brakes. its a safety feature. mine does it too.
