Opterons are still expensive. GOOD ;)

Haven't bothered upgrading to 64bit yet - I remember initial reviews were a little underwhelming.
If only hard disk technology progressed at the same rate! Sick and tired of crappy performance. About time some big flash disks came out to replace them! |
Q1'06 will see a price drop on AMD64s and Opterons - no exact date AFAIK.
Just before they release skt M2.... |
not worth it atm as theres little software for it plus no benefit unless you have 8Mb or more

I am sick of the noise that normal hard drives make. I select the ones I buy very carefully, have then in acoustic enclosures and not directly attached to my case to reduce vibrations. You can still hear the buggers crunch away if you get a "fast" one. |
