why buy an overpriced scrapper when you can get a good un,one just sold on ebay for 3600,you may not like it if your trying to sell one but this is the amount there going at,its good for buyers,bad for sellers

You,ll find theres a reason for selling a motor on fleabay.......you,d be better of spending a few more pounds and sourcing one off an enthusiast......these cars can be costly when things go wrong....you dont wanna end up with a dog...

you can get them cheap as i posted recently cos my mate bought a N reg Sti RA in white for £2700 and its now a road rally car, he's done a few events in it and its been faultless, just cos their cheap doesn't mean their not any good.

have to agree with dave uk there a good option for the money,if your careful at which one you get,would have to agree that theres a lot of duds out there too,we want one for purely track use so if it wasnt well thrashed before its gonna be

l have an sti ra 95 with std uk engine box and diff £3500,as for ebay all the ones l've seen recently going for less than £5000 get relisted within days so sellers are obviously not selling to the winner

ebay is full of sheds, anyone who buys a car without seeing it needs their head examined.

I think tbh you'll be holding out a long time for a decent RA at less than 5k...

the thing is aswell there are a lot of wrx's being touted as sti's that clearly aren't being an owner shows this off quite a bit,some folks don't have any idea what they own,recently a guy on ebay with standard "fibreglass" lightweight panels and no roof vent,but it was advertised as an sti ra....Don't think so

i personally woulnt buy without seeing it first,also even after cheaking model and engine codes it can still have been twiddled with,tath those ones advertised at that are wasting their money,if there serious about moving them on they need to be lower or they will be there for a while

market has crashed at the minute, ive got a 1997 uk spec impreza with thousands spent on it (gems, fmic, omega pistons, rods, 18's all in mint condition) and all I keep getting is people offering stupid amounts for it.

You never get the money back for mods....it would be better off near standard.Sell the mods seperately. :)

In my view the early classic impreza is slowly on the turn, examples in very good condition with history will soon start to command high prices.

You can scan the motoring pages all you like, there are very few extreme examples left outhere, so for those of us who own good classics it will soon be evident that they will be sort after.

they won't be sort after cos their mass produced, evos will always be worth good money cos their made in limited numbers, imprezas are everywhere and thats why the price has come down and will continue to fall, sad fact but true

No more mass produced than the MK1 & MK2 Ford Escort, another example of a rally classic.

exactly what attraction do they have ? they just look like a quick Datsun Sunny with attitude...

MK1 and MK2 escorts have only been worth good money in the last few years about 20 years after the last MK2 was built, i've bought MK2 RS2000's in the past for as little as £400 but these days their worth stupid money and the only reason is cos their wanted for rallying and mostly road rallying, imprezas etc are banned from road rallying in 2007. if the impreza ever increases in value it won't be for a long time like it was for the above escorts but i can't see it happening.
