Counterstrike- Can you still download it for free anywhere?
 

Guys,

My little lad (ok, so he's 18 now) has noticed that Counterstrike is no longer on the laptop, so I need to find a copy.

Can't remember where I got the last copy from, sure it was a free download from one of the official type CS sites. Is it still free or do I have to buy it, and where from?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

could try here I am nearly sure you need a copy of Half - Life as the game engine uses this

Thanks for that- need to subscribe to download steam though! may go down to Game later see if they have any copies of halflife in the '2 for a tenner' pile

you need a valid steam account or a old HL CD key to get a steam accoutnt

CS:S is free with HL 2, i think www.play.com are quite cheap.
