Need a New Mouse? What to get?
OK my Dell optical mouse looks like its on its last legs it keeps jumping all over the place (plus I have convinced myself I need a new one) whats the best one to get?
I normally like Microsoft mice but they seems to have lots of models available now and I cant work out which one to get. I need optical and probably wireless but only if the batteried last more than 10 minutes? anyone know how long they normally last? Also was look at the gel support mouse pads, are they any good? |
Any ideas?

I think the batts normally last a while.
*remember a mouse isnt just for xmas* ;) sorry am bored sh*tless at work gel pads... never used one |
I've a "microsoft optical mouse" no frills job. Batteries usually last a month & a half - being used mon-fri 9-5.
Not a bad mouse on the whole (as is any of the M$ range) Word of warning - do not get a wireless mouse for gaming. |
I've used a Logitech MX700 (3 years old) for gaming with no problems at all. Batteries are rechargeable.
The Logitech G7 is the best cordless optical (laser) mouse available at the moment. |
I have a G7 and it's :thumb:

How longs the battery last on thew G7? What sort of price should it be?

i have a wireless/optical m'soft mouse, not sure of the model number but has the 3 way directional scroll ball.
no problems with it, nice feel, and use it loads and loads and batteries still going strong since last christmas!!!!! |
I don't know how long the batteries last on the G7 but I've had some gaming sessions up to 15 hours and the batteries have still lasted on the MX700. When it's not in use I just stick it back in it's cradle and it recharges. Still on the same set of batteries from new.

G7 is probably lasting me around 15 hours too, plus you get the added benefit of an extra battery you can fire right in when needed :) Expect to pay around 60 notes tho

I've got a logitech MX1000 (laser) cordless mouse. Wasn't cheap, but certainly well worth it. Battery lasts ages between charges, and I just pop it on charge overnight when it's getting low.

I've got the MX1000 too. It is definately the best mouse that I have ever used (and I've used a few) ;)
Battery life is not amazing, or at least nowhere near as good as people have told me. 30 hours tops, if you have really intensive use then its down to around 15 I would say. The thing that worries me is that you cannot actually get at the battery (I've tried :( ) So when it starts to play up, I think its a new mouse :( |
