Recommend me a wired DSL router

Just want something cheap (around £50 mark) for the home office so I can run my PC and work laptop plus if a friend comes around they can hook up easy. So must have more than 2 ethernet ports.

Netgear DG834 ok?

Cheers,
Simon.

I've got a Zoom ADSL X4 and a netgear hub if'n you're interested

I might even have a Belkin 4 port router lurking around somewhere as well.

Lemme get home and I'll confirm models for you

I use the DG834 and it works a treat. In fact most of my colleagues use it coz it is simple to set up and works.

I have some Origo thing I got off Ebuyer for about £25 or so, been working fine for a few years now. :)

The Netgear DG834 comes in two flavours. The old V1 suffers from high ping on game servers (or at least ming did). The newer version 2 is better (apparantly)

Just replaced my Linksys WAG54G with the Netgear DG834GT. So far it's perfect both hardwired to my desktop and wireless to the lappy. If only i'd got it right first time...

Amazon have it for £65 delivered atm.

Netgear here too, very easy set up and operation. Running 3 PC's and a PS2 off it.

Definitely the Netgear. We sell stacks with no problems and always get very good write ups and really easy to set up

Just installed a Netgear DG834GT today from Amazon...

Installed in under 5 mins and working much faster than my old Belkin 54g one..

Highly recommend it!

Be interested to hear of the issues some of you have had with the Linksys?

I have a WAG54G and have had no issues concurrently running a Wireless connection for the kids throughout a large(ish) house, Normal Internet conection for the PC I'm typing this with and a VPN connection for my works laptop.

Faultless setup, good coverage and more than adequate protection for the Wireless side.
