yes mate but need somet cheaper to run or some cash as my circumstances have changed
|
I've had mine on here for a couple of months now, with only a couple of half hearted enquiries and a load of people wanting bits if I return to standard  If my bits are so desirable, then surely whoever buys it would want them anyway. I've seen it many times where folks strip a well spec'd car, sell it, and a few weeks later a newbie starts asking about fitting all the stuff that was on it in the first place
Mine's now in the 'Trader, but with no enquiries in a week I fear I may have to reduce. If no buyers come forward then I can just keep it, but it confuses me that there are newbies cropping up every week, everywhere you go people admire the car, all your mates desire it and reaffirm its excellent specification and how that's just what they'd do if they got one, but when it's there in front of people for sale, no fecker wants to buy it  A mate recently bought a standard bugeye for just £1k less than my well spec'd blobeye is up for, so I don't think I have overpriced it. The market just stinks at the moment. Another friend tried for 8 months to sell a superb Evo 8, and in the end had to settle for a price that made everyone weep. If mine had sold I would have given him £1k more for it just to spite the derisory offer he ultimately had to accept. |
Just the wrong time of year to be selling any kind of sporty car, if you can afford to, keep hold of it and sell in the spring where you'll get more and sell quicker.
If you are looking to sell because you've seen something else you want to buy, remeber that is also cheaper because of the time of year, so its swings and roundabouts. |
Well i sold my mysti 05 in 2 weeks in the trader, just last week !
Missing the scoob already....but pick up my more senssiable golf gti 200 on friday.... It's all about fuel cost at the mo... Anyway...I put it in the trader at 19.495 for the first week and got no call's, droped the price to 18500 on the second week and the first called purchaed it for 18400. Then got shed loads of call after.... So they are selling just fine....just depends on if you will allow your self to make a loss..... Blinking petrol prices......god this country is Shi*e:mad: |
Exactly as Monty says - fuel costs are so high now that its hard to justify running a car with such high consumption anymore.
Paying over 1quid per litre, sometimes with octane booster cost on top is a hell of a lot when you only see 22MPG back! |
Buy a Scooby and your on a money rollercoaster.
|
Like posted above, lots of people will admire them, but then when its come to buying and subsequently running one, its a different matter I guess.
I'd admire a Ferrari 355, but the chance of actually buying and then running one is a little out of my budget. The cheaper scoob models will shift easier as people are not so worried about maintaining the service history at 5 years+ old at the exepense of a bit of fun. |
ive dropped the price by 800 quid in last week, do you guys think its priced well? from lookin at other scoobys i think it is, ant tried autotrader yet,
|
Just had a quick look at previous ebay auctions of Scoobs to see what sort of prices theyve sold for, but virtually none have met their reserve prices - clearly very little demand for them.
Most similar one to yours was this one, 19k miles, 2002 (02 plate), mint - sold for 8800. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-SUBARU-IM...QQcmdZViewItem |
exactamundo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, dont want to sell, but got a project to finance, sick of dumbass offers from tossers who havent even seen or driven her (u know who u are ) the autotrader has also been fruitless,(more cabbages than a looney asylum )not just for me but many others as well judging by the same cars for sale for the last couple of months, so will just weather the storm till a genuine buyer wants her, i will take any reasonable offer(damage limitation) cos she stands me alot more than i am gona get!
|
Best cars bar none imo, but rip off insurance, crap fuel cost, expensive parts. People with sense wont go for one making it hard to sell, or they have already owned one and moved on. Theres never a good time to sell, just got to be lucky!!
|
anyone tried sellin back to the trader? get any decent prices, quotes?
|
Lets face it though, you dont by a car like the impreza for its stunning fuel economy and cheap running costs do you ? ( get a nice Daewoo Matiz if thats what you want ! )
If I had to commute hundreds of miles a week theres no way I'd even consider one, very few people who own performance cars only have one car if they need to do lots of boring daily driving. |
Bought mine 2 weeks ago, the guy paid £5000 for it 11 months ago it's 93 wrx ra with 63000 miles imported 12 months ago. He had it in the trader for weeks and had no response so chopped it in for an Audi A3, the garage gave him 4000 for it. I paid £3700 as the garage just wanted rid quick sharpish, they said they would have taken £3500..after i bid £3700... oh bugger.
I have been watching prices for a while because i have been saving up to buy one, the prices seem to have really dropped off in the last 6 months. I think that so many people have jumped on the lets import some cheap Impreza's from Japan bandwagon that its killed the price. Good if your buying, bad if your selling. |
Thank f*** for GAP insurance...
Who cares what they are selling for......RTFO.
Stringpants. |
I tried to sell my mint type r for 7 months, I had no serious offers, just crappy p/x's and people phoning me to say 'u can get scoobys for 4 grand now mate i aint paying 9 grand for yours'.
|
Hmm, was considering selling mine last week, drove it today for the first time in ages. Think i caught the bug again :)
|
That's weird, i was considering selling my 2004 wrx witha few discreet mods until i drove it into work today.
Forgot how good the car is, nice tight gearbox and hugs the corners mind you i do have prodrive springs. My daily driver is a frontera 2.2dti and it get the same miles per tank as the subaru does, but it suits my needs and keep the miles of my subaru. Im gonna mod the nuts of my car and keep her. Current mods Springs, 18" alloys, sti filter, decat magnex. Soon to have carbon sti scoop and sti spoiler. Lifes to short to be boring, keep the scoob. Gordy. |
Trying to sell mine just now....no real interest! :(

sold my mint (everyone says that I guess!) MY00 a couple of months ago for 6k. Besides the market being completely and totally flooded (there are freakin' zillions of them), they are too costly to run. Plus Subaru like to bring out a revised model every 30 seconds which practically kills residuals for all but the die hard Subaru-shirt-wearing types. (i.e. me)
A local car dealership has had a DBM wagon on an X plate on the forecourst for months, noticed yesterday he's lowered it to 9k... yeah right! I saw a couple of early WRX's with FSSH last week for sub 1k... Now that's cheap motoring:) Stangely my 350z is cheaper to insure, cheaper to service and better on fuel - spooky |
Ive had mine in the autotrader for the last 5 weeks, not one serious phone call.
2005 STi type UK with 1k miles! £19k cant be bad?, I paid £27500 cash to the dealer (no trade in), no discount! He offered me 2 balloons & a tartan pencil case to have it back off me! Ba*t*rd!! Lesson learned though! F2B. |
Mint MY00 for 6K? Get behind me satan with this temptation!
Sheesh, that's a load of car for the money. |
Sold mine after 2 months, dropped it a little to sell, but it went . Had a lot of wannabes, and so many px offers that i didnt want, yet they seem to want top money for theirs, even though I didnt want it. :cuckoo:
Anybody else been offered an 05 clio? That bloke seems to live in dreamland. |
