Shuddering

When I pull away in 1st there is an almighty shudder.. the more revs the less the shudder... WTF is it, it started after the long Idle at the BBO ???

Probably uneven deposits on the clutch plates surfaces. Try a couple of banzaii starts, it'll either clear it or highlight the need for a new clutch.

pimmo2000 17 October 2005 01:18 AM

whats a banzaii start?

Starting in Gear?

corradoboy 17 October 2005 03:28 AM

5k revs in first, drop clutch and flat to floor. Through gears to 80-ish. If it's deposits it should clear it, if not it could be a big bill :(

Mines the same but only when it's clap cold.

Early newages often suffered from this apparently, dealers used to say it was normal but there was a fix....i'm sure someone on here will know all about it

About 14 months ago on here someone posted the bulletin from Subaru which stated this was a known fault on bugeyes and was to be fixed under warranty.

If you do a search you might find it.

This worked for me on my my99 classic, my dealership advised me to do this to sort the problem.
