53 wrx and ppp
 

Well a slight change in the plans. I scrapped the idea of a brand new euro import when i saw a uk spec wr blue wrx with sti spolier and tracker for much less. After I had added up the cost of an alarm and 1000 mile service etc. i figured i could live with a 53 plate for a year or two then go sti. So as of tomorrow I'll officially be a member of the site!

Obviously the first mod will be ppp, followed shortly by selling the wife/kids/house to pay for more and more.

I know I'm about to get flamed with ppl saying if im worried about fuel why buy a scoob and all that but the fact is most ppl on here dont drive it like they are on a super special stage all the time. These cars get their workout, but also have to be everyday cars to most of us.

So, bearing this in mind, what difference in fuel consumption have ppl seen with ppp fitted when thrashing it and when motorway/town driving on and off boost?

It wont stop me getting ppp i just wondered if i should buy some oil shares.:)

Expect 260 miles to a tank of Optimax if you drive carefully. (WRX PPP)

and your looking at 55-60 notes to fill up

My 03 WRX PPP averaged 32.75mpg on a 350 mile run from Devon to Yorkshire. The light came on 1 mile from my usual Optimax garage, indicating that there may have been possibly another 50 or so miles still left. 400 from a tank would have been a record methinks :D On a spirited backroad burn I may get 16-19, and average near 25 day to day. I pay 92.9 for Saisbury's SUL, so an average 50l fill up comes in at £46.45. The PPP actually improves fuel consumption.

in my sti ppp, i fill up every wednesday without fail (only time i pass a shell garage) and i am usually on around 100miles done, it then costs me £25 to fill up...

which is 18mpg...ouch...

I had PPP fitted at 1000 miles and the consumption has improved with mileage. At first it averaged around 25-27 on a motorway run, between 80-90MPH, it now does between 27-31.

Not bad for 260BHP, my wifes Freelander TD4 diesel only averages 30!!!

im getting 200 miles to a full tank, that with using it for work evey other week which is a 22 mile round trip.

Although i shouldnt really put this up as im probs gonna get shot down for this, i used £65 worth of ultimate, that lasted me 191 miles before the light was on again. I must add, that was 7 runs on the strip as well, so i was probs in the single fighures there for a wee while

Bit of advice mate, try not to think about it, it will only dissapoint you lol

well after grinning for 2 days i now have the car and am grinning even more.

noticed the power band is fairly narrow though for day to day driving so the ppp is definately on the way.

done half a tank in just this afternoon on the long way home from warrington.:)
