I know its been asked before, but as there doesn't appear to be a search facility anymore, i will ask the question anyway.

How do you post pictures onto this forum ?

Then once you have done that select the url address of the picture, and paste it inbetween [img] url goes here [/img] (minus the gaps)

Sorry for another noob question, but is it possible to see the linked pictures in the actual thread? I have to click the link and it opens a new window then.

Go to user cp, edit options and allow show images.
