Anti-freeze

Had my scoob since may. With winter coming i thought id check the Anti-freeze level with this measuring device my old man had. Turns out there was no anti-freeze, just water. Is that bad for the engine in long run or not really have any effect? Flushed out and put anti-freeze/water mix in today. I mixed 2 & 1/2 litres of coolant with about 5 liters of water. This gives a freezing point of about -20c.

Your engine might live without the a/freeze, but it wont live without the anti-corrosives in the a/freeze!

agreed, things will start to rust and corrode... hope the water wasnt brown when it came out?!
plus, with antifreeze included the coolant works more efficiently; which is always good..

i personally always use a 50/50 mix for antifreeze...
