Been running a fair amount of booster? They look ok to me,Even gaps etc.

There seems a fair bit of metallic build-up on the centre electrodes? Have you been using a lot of OB to cure any det? They needed to be changed - does the car feel any better with the fresh plugs in?

LOL... JB and myself have a thing about orange internals..! Actually that's only using 1 bottle of miller OB per tankful. BTW not added to cure any det.

I only changed them as it was recommended that the colder #7 plug would be a better choice for my setup... These were the original plugs from new @ 11k, could that explain the deposits..?

As for running better, not really, it ran well before and it seems the same with these new plugs.

Cheers,

Jason;)

I changed the plugs in my 03 STi for iridiums and the originals (same as yours) also showed those metallic particals, but not as much, as they were only approx. 7k old!
I spoke to a Millers rep re - the discolouration and he assured me there is no problem. (well, he would wouldn't he!) It's the manganese.
Has anyone else got an explanation for those particals?

Asked Paul B (aka Pavlo) and he seems to think they have been running a bit hot although nothing serious. Hoping the colder NGK PRF7B should resolve this.

Very interesting though.

lol re OB colour coding..!;) First time I saw anything like this was a pic of a turbo off John Banks' project 2.5 IIRC..! It raised a few eyebrows then, but anyone who's used OB & seen any internals off that engine it comes as no supprise.

Didn't realise it was down to the manganese content though.

I had the orange, but not the metallic deposits in that quantity.
