Backbox too noisy for Castlecoombe...advice

Hi
Going to castlecoombe next week and I have to pass the noise check area
Now apparently it needs to be below 100db at 4500RPM.
I have a Ninja backbox from scoobyworld, full decat.
Now i know it is fairly loud (not as bad as some), but i was wondering if anyone has similar and if it will pass.

My guess - FAIL !
I have afterburner and full decatt - 107bd at 3500 revs.

Stick a OEM BB on for the day, or shove some wadding up the pipe just before the test ;)

Just take a standard/quieter one with you just incase. Will a standard one bolt back onto the center section?

SCOOBY TOWERS 29 September 2005 02:43 PM

Should do Paul, unless the decat is a 3" system.

BTW I have a spare OEM BB you can borrow of your passing Lancashire :)

ScoobyTowers

Thanks for the advice. Not what i wanted to hear though :(
I do have a spare backbox at home, it is a prodrive replica, which i am guessing will be below the limit. But that means taking it with me on the day, or getting it chnaged over at the weeknd.
what a fecking pain in the arse is that.
Oh well i suppose a small price to pay.

oh and thx for the offer, but lancashire is not quite on my way to castlecoombe, unless they moved the county near to the M4 in the last month :D

paul
guess what you are doing for me this weeekend :D

Paulo P 29 September 2005 03:12 PM

maybe, I'm up Silverstone on Sunday watching the D1 but I might be back in time. Are you busy on Saturday? It'll only take half hour I reckon.

SwissTony 29 September 2005 03:20 PM

Got the kids this weekend, so might be tricky, but I could swing by sometime if you say it is only half an hour.

should i bring my trolley jack as well or does your well stocked garage have all that :D

will call you to see where you are.

cheers big ears

I'll do it on my drive outside my house, it's not as steep ;) I'll stick it up on ramps, it's quicker :)

Call us whenever :)
