Complaining about insurance repairs

Missus had a little prang in the Imp (a 00MY UK Turbo) a few weeks ago. Nothing major, but it needed a new front bumper, headlamp, fog lamps and protective covers, and a few other bits and pieces. Front edge of the bonnet was also slightly damaged, but this was repairable, according to the insurance firm.

Anyway, collected the car from the repairer today. And I ain't happy....

A minor detail, but the repaired part of the bonnet, just above the top corner of the grille on the drivers side, does not match the unrepaired side in shape or detail. Paint is perfect, but the shaping of the repair isn't - Asymmetrical is the word I'm looking for, I suppose. As I said, it's a minor detail and probably unnoticeable to most, but once you know it's there...

They've also fitted the protective covers on the foglamps the wrong way round, snapping a retaining plastic arm off of each in the process. Covers are clearly labelled, too :cuckoo:

I'm more than a little disappointed and because of this, the missus feels absolutely gutted, despite my reassurances.

So, does anyone have any experience of complaining about insurance repair jobs?

Any advice or info would be welcomed.

Cheers

Kev

My neighbour had the same kind of probelm when an Audi dealership repaired his car, he ended up complaining to the manager in charge of body repairs and the next day the car was back in and was completly re-done.

The job in the end was brillant, but the first effort was very disappointing - surprising what some people will accept.
