WRC Technologies Tuner GP victory?????

Spotted this on WRC technologies site that said they had the fastests Scoob at the recent Tuner GP, I thought Powerstation and Litchfield's were quickest??

Taken from the WRC site: "The WRC Technologies WRC 350 Subaru STi 8 outperformed every other Subaru STi 7/8/9 entered in the Tuner Grand Prix at Donington Park on the 17th of September. Following a last minute decision to enter the company's demonstrator STi and very little setup time, the STi piloted by Phil Bennett "

They have choosen their words very carefully because powerstation and litchfield used sti 10's

Aztec Performance Ltd 28 September 2005 03:33 PM

Powerstation finished 4th in class and WRC 5th in class. Only 0.38s seperated them.

SPEN555 28 September 2005 03:39 PM

IIRC,

Powerstation won the 2000 to 2999cc class. They had a trophy sat in the office when I went down last week.

Aztec Performance Ltd 28 September 2005 03:42 PM

They did indeed (2001-2999cc), although the 2.0ltr was quicker.

mikeesingh 28 September 2005 04:50 PM

its a bit misleading, they have included the type 25, but not the type 20 (which was the quickest)

my car (scoobyclinic) is a sti 5 (not a sti7/8/9) and was driven by kev (flat4) his time of 1:23 was set using 3rd and 4th gear only as i broke 5th gear the day before

also the wrc car was driven by phil bennett, ex BTCC touring car driver which helps ;)

well done to powerstation & litchfield imports :thumb:

We must second that!

And hats off Kev&Mikee fantastic results!

flat4 28 September 2005 05:13 PM

you forgot to mention the oil on the back tyres too Mikee ;)

i was only presuming it was Phil Bennett of BTCC fame...

BIGALL 28 September 2005 05:26 PM

From what i've seen, the type 25 only did 3 or four laps whilst it was bedding its brakes in :D it didn't run for the rest of the day as it was a little too loud ;)

Its funny how they managed to get Phil Bennet at such short notice ;)

Powerstation 28 September 2005 05:44 PM

Thanks for the heads up.
We have just updated our website to make things a little clearer……. ;) www.powerstation.org.uk
If it was such a last minute thing for WRC maybe they found Phil Bennett thumbing a lift on the way up  :D
Well done to the Mikee/scoobyclinic car for the excellent run on the ¼ mile. :thumb: What did you spend the grand on????

Sam Elassar 28 September 2005 06:26 PM

i dont undertand this guys, so did WRC actually win anything as they claim?

sam

LitchfieldImports 28 September 2005 07:11 PM

Sam they could have won a prize for the fastest Subaru Spec C in WR BLUE ;) :D or maybe the most tea consumed by a driver :D Phil almost drunk our hospitality trailer dry :)

It’s a shame they felt the need to name all the other tuners on their site. Quite an aggressive US style marketing strategy

Sadly yet again you have chose to publically air another libelous view. Dentistry was your uni major evidently not law ?
Our web site is very very accurate and specific in what it says. We had the fastest Sti 7 / 8 / 9 we merely didnt mention a new 2006 Spec C STi 10 was only 0.3 sec quicker than a 3yr old car....You need to look for your competitive advantages. There is no harm in not mentioning it. The harm comes if we had misrepresented the facts.
Litchfield had a faster car on the day. No quibbles there. Many of the other cars were either larger capacity, or quote more BHP on their respective websites or whatever. Fact is they were not as fast around the circuit as a 350 BHP new age car which had Air Con, Elec Windows, Cat convertor, easily met the 98 dB noise limit and was of course heavier than all of the classic shape high powered cars !

Oh and BTW Phil agreed to drive the car on the Tuesday so we got to work prepping it, askPowerstation when we ordered the ARB and Anti lift kit.

Have I got this right

Litchfield had a faster car on the day, and WRC had the quietest car on the day that easily as it met the 98 dB noise limit?

If Sam Elassar is a Dentist, is he national health or private?

It’s all lost on me

libelous ? are you going to sue me over my post or something?

did you actually win anything? as do you have a trophy or a cheque or an award been given by the guys at tuner gp?

Neilo 28 September 2005 11:06 PM

why were all those 0-60 times so poor? (apart from the top 4)??

WRC have never claimed to have won anything at Tuner GP an event aimed at bona fide businesses but then again the Litchfield Spec C did'nt win either. Class D was won by a Westfield or some such DIY car.

Semantics are fun, we claimed rightfully to have lapped Donnington in a 2003 Subaru Sti 8 faster than any other STi 7 or 8 or 9 this is recorded fact.
The fact that a 2006 STi 10 was faster by 0.3 was not relevant as we did not claim to be a class winner or the fastest Subaru outright, that honour went to Litchfield. Nor is it deemed correct that you as a competitive tuner should be "Troll posting" here on Scoobynet attempting to discredit WRC yet again. Remember someone just like you posted something similar on here a few years ago and it caused the BB to be closed for 6 months whilst all the legal wrangle was sorted out. You wouldnt wish that on Scoobynet or its members would you ? So please behave yourself and go away and attempt smear campaigns against some other poor unfortunate soul.

You need to go to bed now or you may fall asleep in Dental lectures tommorrow !

Allan: It is true that it shows WRC in its true and best light, but I am sure on balance you probably would not want to show your competitors figures, if they were better in other categories.

It looks like marketing to me, fair play to you it’s your web site. :)

But you must expect others to express an opinion, if you mention them by name.

Perhaps it would have been best just to say you won the category and not give them the exposure.

Its best not to argue on here, as it can look like handbags at dawn sometimes ;), rise above it M8.

I have just edited certain content from previous posts.

Can people please think before they type! As the implications of what they type can cause innocent parties serious legal problems.

Thank you.

Shaun.

In hindsight you are probably correct but its done now. Removing names from our website wont undo it.

However that may be the course we take 2moro.

In any business you need to extract a maximum impact positive from every event or activity. Thats all we did.

WRC-T2:

Ah the voice of reason, getting nasty by either party won’t win you any friends (or business).

We come on here for information, entertainment and a bit of light weight banter plus the odd wind up ;)

I am sure Shaun does not want it, and nor do we.

Lighten up!
