MAF Sensor

I keep hearing about horror stories with regards to the MAF sensor failing on Version 5's.

Should I replace mine on my standard STi Type-R V5 even if I'm having no problems?

Anybody?

Why not??

You could take your logic one step further ..... engines have been known to go wrong, buy a new engine now even if you have no troubles - :D

Just drive the fookin thing and stop crapping your pants!! Tell the ANALS to go shove themselves!!

Just changed ours on a P1, was running fine, no fault codes, in my opinion you can't be too careful, will change again in 18 months time

Yeah Subaru just told me that on advice from Prodrive, they recommend changing the MAF every 18 months on the P1 which has the same MAF as the Type-R V5.

That was what they told me and heard of several blowing up recently, so thought it worth the change.

Car was running fine, but have noticed it's running smoother now round town when cold :D
