Whats the difference between coil overs and the springs then? Sorry call me thick

A Coilover kit is a shock and spring kit which allows you to adjust the ride height of the car by having adjustable spring platforms.

By fitting a coilover kit the ride will be firmer than if only springs are fitted as the dampers have been uprated also.

20% relative to which model? Standard spring rates range over about 35% depending on model. What are the spring rates, and the travel?
